Bushwacker Attends the Jolly Jeepers Back to Basics Rally

The Jolly Jeepers is an Oregon-based 4WD club that’s been around since 1962. And since the early 1980s, the club has put on its annual Back to Basics Rally, which is held in Tillamook State Forest. It features trail runs, great food, and of course, plenty of Jeep enthusiasts. Our National Sales Manager, Randy Peterson, attended in his 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ) sporting Cut-Out Flares (see the installation video), a 4″ BDS lift kit, Trail Ready Bumper, WARN winch, PIAA lights, and Mickey Thompson wheels and tires (33×12.50×17). In addition, he brought along some Bushwacker banners, some swag, and a gift certificate to give away at the club’s raffle.
There were Jeeps of all models, old and new. From old CJs to brand-new JKs.
Randy reported that the trails were great as was the weather. They ran a number of trails including Powerline, University Firepower, Cedar Tree, and Firebreak 5, which Randy reported to have the largest rocks.
If you’ve never run the trails at TSF, it’s a great place to get out, do some wheeling, and enjoy the scenery, of which there is plenty. And if you’ve got a Jeep, Back to Basics should be on your list of off-road events to attend. We already look forward to attending the 2015 Rally!
